Ingredients
- 2 Cups Soaked Red Chana Dal
- 2 Chopped Onions
- 1.5 Inch Grated Ginger
- 2 Chopped Green Chillies
- 2-3 Bay Leaves/Tej Pata
- 2 Tsp Jeera/Cumin Seeds
- ½ Tsp Kalonji/Nigella Seeds
- 2 Tbsp HeriMore Coriander/Dhaniya Powder
- 2 Tsp HeriMore Amritsari Pindi Chole Masala
- 2 Tsp HeriMore Chaat Masala
- ¼ Tsp Hing/Asafoetida
- Fresh Coriander Leaves, For Garnish
Instructions
Step 1:
Boil the soaked red chana, strain and set it aside.
Step 2:
In a pan heat 2 tbsp of oil and add hing, bay leaves, jeera, kalonji, grated ginger, chopped green chilli, and onion. Sauté until the onion is translucent.
Step 3:
Next add in the boiled chana and sauté for 2-3 minutes. Season the chana with salt to taste, HeriMore Amritsari Pindi Chole Masala, HeriMore Coriander/Dhaniya powder, and jeera powder. Sauté for a few more minutes.
Step 4:
Sprinkle HeriMore Chaat Masala for a tangy kick. Garnish with julienne (long thin strips) of ginger and fresh coriander leaves.
Pro Tip: After preparing the dish, cover and leave it for half an hour to allow the flavours to meld and enhance, ensuring maximum taste of the masala.
